Coprosma acerosa, commonly known as the Sand Coprosma or Tātaraheke, is a NZ native shrub found naturally in coastal locations. It grows as a tight and tangled mound of short stems bearing tiny, brown-green foliage. This interesting plant typically grows to 30 cm tall and 1.5 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It tolerates extended dry periods, wind, moderate frost, poor soils, and coastal conditions.
