How to care for the Poor Knights Coprosma

Caring for the Poor Knights Coprosma is simply about getting a few easy things right so the plants thrive. They prefer a sheltered spot in either full sun or part shade. A well-drained and fertile soil will produce amazing plants. Adding organic matter like compost into the soil during planting will help with soil fertility. They prefer a soil on the dry side but it will benefit from watering during dry periods but be careful to avoid overwatering as this can lead to root rot. Applying tree fertiliser in spring will keep the plants well-fed for the year. Any trimming should be undertaken in autumn or early spring which is mostly about shaping the plant. Applying mulch around the base of the plant helps retain moisture, regulate soil temperature, and suppress weeds.
