Hebe Lavender Spray

Hebe Lavender Spray grows as a prostrate shrub to about 15 cm tall and 75 cm wide. This NZ native carries small, mid green leaves which are held densely on slender, sprawling stems. Masses of lavender coloured flowers are produced from summer through autumn, transforming the plant into a wonder of colour. Hebe Lavender Spray is an ideal plant for using as a groundcover, including in borders, or planting around the base of larger trees. It looks splendid when allowed to spill over walls or paths.

Hebe Lavender Spray care

The most important part of caring for Hebe Lavender Spray is to make sure they have a well-drained soil that does not become waterlogged at any time. This, along with over-watering, are the main causes of plants to fail to perform or die. The plants can be lightly trimmed any time but this is best undertaken in summer. The final elements are to feed the plants in spring with a general fertiliser and keep an eye on watering so they do not dry out. Keep an eye out for scale insect and mealy bugs and treat with an appropriate agrichemical if necessary.
