Sagina subulata, commonly known as Irish Moss or Scotch Moss, is a popular ground cover plant. This herbaceous perennial forms a moss-like carpet of bright green foliage and hugs the soil as it grows to just 5 cm tall and 60 cm wide. Tiny, white flowers appear in late spring. Sagina subulata is commonly used as a substitute for lawn, for filling between rocks or pavers, or included in a rock garden.
