“The Pearl” is an herbaceous perennial renowned for its elegant sprays of pure white, pom pom like flowers in summer. The flowers are often used as a cut flower. This vigorous plant has narrow, dark green leaves and typically grows to 60 cm tall and 40 cm wide. The dark leaves contrast well with the flowers and are also aesthetically pleasing. While this hardy plant is largely drought and wind tolerant it will grow best on a well-drained site in full sun or partial shade. It is tolerant of mild frost and coastal conditions. Use this plant in a “white” garden, in coastal gardens, in border plantings, mixed plantings, or use it to add diversity with other colours and foliage types. A mass planting makes for an excellent display during summer.
