Bergenia Snowtime is an herbaceous perennial grown for its lush foliage and pretty flowers. The large and glossy, green leaves are wavy, arranged as a spiral rosette, and will often develop purple or bronze tones during the cooler months. The foliage is complemented with showy clusters of small, white flowers which can take on pink tones as they age. They are borne on short stems through spring. It grows as a tidy clump to about 30 cm tall and 40 cm wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of moderate frost, cool climates, short periods of dry, and a wide range of soil conditions, except extreme wet or dry. In cooler areas the plants may die back during winter to regrow again when conditions warm. Bergenia Snowtime is a very fashionable and hardy plant that is ideal for border planting or mass planting as a groundcover. It is often used in cottage gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, or maintained in a container.
