“White” is a variety of Hellebore grown for its amazing flowers and foliage. The leaves are large, dark green, and have a lush appeal. Through winter and spring the leaves are adorned with showy, pure white flowers held on slender stems above the foliage in a pendulous manner. This herbaceous perennial grows as a clump to about 50 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It has a root system that enables it to regrow again in spring if cold conditions or frost kills off the foliage. “White” is an ideal plant for cottage, tropical, or “white” gardens, for mixed and border plantings, or planting for fabulous spring colour. A mass planting provides a truly impressive display.
