Ligularia tussilaginea Details

Ligularia tussilaginea, commonly known as the Giant Leopard Plant, is an herbaceous perennial grown for its foliage and flowers. This evergreen plant features large and rounded, glossy, dark green leaves. Stems emerge during summer bearing clusters of orange-yellow, daisy like flowers. It typically grows to 50 cm tall and 1 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site that does not dry out. It should be protected from frost while establishing, though once established a light frost may defoliate the plant but it will regrow again in spring. Ligularia tussilaginea is often used for border planting, planted beside a water feature, grown in a container, added to a mixed planting, included in a tropical garden, or planted en masse for a stunning display.
