Thymus praecox Coccineus, commonly known as Red Creeping Thyme, features lemon scented, dark green foliage which becomes adorned with masses of fragrant, magenta red flowers during summer. It will grow to just 5 cm tall and 30 cm wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun or partial shade. Thymus praecox Coccineus is commonly included in the herb garden, used as a lawn substitute, planted between pavers or rocks, used as a groundcover, or allow to trail over a wall or the like.
