Verbena bonariensis Details
This variety of Verbena is an herbaceous perennial grown for its showy clusters of vibrant, lilac-pink flowers. The flowers are produced from late spring through early summer, and are held above the fine, dark green foliage. It grows quickly to about 1 m tall and 60 cm wide, and performs best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, frost free, sheltered site. This Verbena is commonly included in borders and mixed plantings, added to cottage gardens, or mass planted on a bank or the like. The flowers are often used in floral arrangements. In cooler areas it is often treated as an annual and replaced each year.
