Begonia Escargot Details

Begonia Escargot is a tender perennial is grown for its colourful and showy flowers. It grows as a bushy plant with the foliage comprising lush leaves variegated with dark green and silver, with a snail shell-like appearance. It typically grows to 40 cm tall and 35 cm wide, growing best in a partial shade position that does not dry out but has good drainage and shelter, and is free from frost. Plants may die back during winter but will generally regrow again when conditions warm. It is important that the soil or media remains on the dry side when this occurs so as not to rot the tuber. Begonia Escargot is commonly grown indoors as a potted plant or planted outdoors in warmer environments in borders or around outdoor living areas.
