Chamaedora elegans, commonly known as the Parlour Palm, Bamboo Palm, or Good Luck Palm, features short, light green fronds which emerge from a central clump. When grown indoors the plant will generally only reach 30 cm tall and the same wide but in tropical plantings it may grow to 1 m or more. The lovely texture and tolerance of this plant makes Chamaedora elegans ideal as an indoor pot plant. It is also suited to tropical plantings and adding to mixed plantings in warm climates.

Chamaedorea elegans Details

Chamaedora elegans, commonly known as the Parlour Palm, Bamboo Palm, or Good Luck Palm, is a popular indoor Palm due to its lovely appearance and tolerance of indoor environments. This Palm comprises short, light green fronds which emerge from a central clump. When grown indoors the plant will generally only reach 30 cm tall and the same wide but in tropical plantings it may grow to 1 m or more. Best growth is achieved when placed in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site that is free from frost and cold drafts. It is hardy to short periods of dry and poor light conditions. The lovely texture and tolerance of this plant makes Chamaedora elegans ideal as an indoor pot plant. It is also suited to tropical plantings and adding to mixed plantings in warm climates.
