Ficus Black Night is an evergreen shrub, commonly grown as an indoor plant due to its attractive foliage. The large and glossy leaves are near black and are held with a somewhat layered appearance off a central stem. Outdoors in tropical climates it can grow to 4 m tall and 3 m wide, but indoors it is generally contained to about 1-1.5 m tall and wide. Best results with this plant are achieved when it is grown in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. Ficus Black Night is often used in subtropical gardens, grown around pool or barbecue areas, maintained in a container, or added to a mixed planting. It makes for a fabulous indoor plant to contrast with a light-coloured wall.
