“Melany” is a popular indoor plant owing to its rich and colourful foliage. The large and glossy leaves are glossy and dark green with a burgundy overtone. They are held off a solitary stem. It typically grows to 80 cm tall and 50 cm wide, performing best when grown in indirect light with a well-drained growing media. It will not grow well in cool or drafty spaces and will fail if it repeatedly overwatered or exposed to frost. “Melany” is commonly grown as a potted plant in offices and in the home. In subtropical climates it is often planted around pools and other outdoor living areas, maintained in a container, or included in tropical themed gardens.
