Hazelnut Alexandra is a variety of Hazelnut selected for its flavoursome nuts. It produces good yields of medium sized, bronze nuts in summer. It grows as a deciduous tree to about 4 m tall and 3 m wide carrying large, mid green leaves. The leaves develop yellow tones before falling. This variety requires another variety of Hazelnut planted close by to pollinate such as White Heart or Butler. Best performance is achieved when grown on a well-drained site in full sun. It is tolerant of cool climates and frost. Hazelnut Alexandra is commonly used for nut production, added into a mixed planting, or grown as a specimen.
