Hazelnut Ennis is a variety of Hazelnut selected for its flavoursome nuts. It produces good yields of large sized, bronze nuts in summer. It grows as a deciduous tree to about 4 m tall and 3 m wide carrying large, mid green leaves which develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. This variety requires another variety of Hazelnut planted close by to pollinate such as Alexandra or Merveille de Bolwillier. Best performance is achieved when grown on a well-drained site in full sun. It is tolerant of cool climates and frost. Hazelnut Ennis is commonly used for nut production, added into a mixed planting, or grown as a specimen.
