Acorus gramineus variegatus, commonly known as Variegated Sweet Flag, is an ornamental grass grown for its attractive and variegated foliage. It features narrow and slender leaves that are bright yellow with a fine, dark green edge. They emerge from a central clump and gracefully arch downwards. It typically grows to 30 cm tall and the same wide but will eventually colonise a larger area as it spreads via creeping roots. It is easily grown in both well-drained and heavy soils in full sun or partial shade conditions. It will also grow well in boggy conditions, including very shallow water, and is tolerant of moderate frost.
