Commonly known as Blue Sedge, this is an ornamental grass featuring blue-grey, narrow foliage. It typically grows to 10 cm tall and will spread to cover 30 cm. It performs when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of dry periods, frost, cool climates, heavy soils, and coastal environments. Blue Sedge is commonly included in borders, maintained in a container, mass planted as a groundcover, grown around outdoor living areas, or planted between pavers and the like. It is favoured among landscape gardeners due to its great aesthetics and versatility and is often used as a substitute for Mondo grasses.
