“Daybreak” is an ornamental grass featuring very colourful, yellow and pink leaves. These long and narrow leaves emerge from a central clump, are held stiffly, and become adorned with elegant, silver-green flower spikes in summer. It typically grows to 50 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It will tolerate windy and exposed sites but should not be allowed to get too dry. Frosts may kill the foliage during winter but it will regrow again in spring. “Daybreak” is commonly used in borders, maintained in a container, or mass planted for an eye catching display. It is a low maintenance plant that is great for providing year round interest.
