Juncus effusus, commonly known as the Spiral Rush, Corkscrew Rush, or Soft Rush, features slender, mid-green leaves. The foliage is complemented with brown flower stems during summer as it grows to about 75 cm tall and 50 cm wide. Juncus effusus is ideal for wetland revegetation, riparian plantings, or planting around ponds and streams. It is also suited to urban planting where it works well in borders, mixed plantings, or anywhere a hardy and durable plant is required, particularly for wetter areas.

Juncus effusus (Spiral Rush) Details

Juncus effusus, commonly known as the Spiral Rush, Corkscrew Rush, or Soft Rush, features slender, mid-green leaves. The foliage is complemented with brown flower stems during summer. It grows as a tidy clump to about 75 cm tall and 50 cm wide, performing best when planted in full sun on any soil that does not dry out. It is tolerant of frost, wind, wet and boggy soils, and moderate shade. Juncus effusus is ideal for wetland revegetation, riparian plantings, or planting around ponds and streams. It is also suited to urban planting where it works well in borders, mixed plantings, or anywhere a hardy and durable plant is required, particularly for wetter areas.
