“Variegatus” is a stunning variety of the commonly known, Japanese Silver Grass. This ornamental grass produces narrow, gently arching, green leaves that are striped with white. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and 1 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on pretty much any soil type condition, barring extreme wet or dry. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, wind, coastal conditions, and extended periods of dry. “Variegatus” is often included in a mixed planting, planted around outdoor living areas or water features, used as a backdrop for other plants, or included in borders.
