Dypsis decaryi Details

Dypsis decaryi, commonly known as The Triangle Palm, is a stunning plant suited to medium-sized gardens. It is renowned for its large and showy, dark green fronds which are borne as an array atop a solitary trunk. The fronds can be up to 3 m long and are complemented with small, yellow flowers in spring which result in cream white berries. It is relatively slow growing and will eventually reach 6 m tall and the same wide. Best results with this Palm are achieved when it is planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It will be damaged by frosts and is therefore not suited to cool climate regions. Dypsis decaryi makes a lovely specimen and is well suited to planting around outdoor living areas, including in a tropical garden, avenue planting, or adding to a mixed planting.
