Howea forsteriana (Kentia Palm) Details

Howea forsteriana, commonly known as the Kentia Palm, is a popular and elegant Palm tree. It has a thin and slender trunk which hosts feathery and drooping fronds. The trunk is originally dark green but ages to brown. It is relatively slow growing but will eventually reach 10 m tall and 6 m wide. Best performance with this Palm is achieved when it is grown on a well-drained site in full sun or partial shade, protected from both wind and frost. Howea forsteriana is commonly grown as an indoor plant, used in tropical and pool gardens, planted around entranceways, grown as a specimen, or included in a mixed planting. NB: we grow our palms outdoors and not in a greenhouse so they may exhibit seasonal yellowing and spotting on the leaves, particularly during winter months.
