Livistona australis, commonly known as the Cabbage Tree Palm, is a tall and slender Palm Tree. It forms a crown of dark green, fan-like fronds up to 2 m long. It bears clusters of cream-white flowers in summer throughout the crown. It typically grows slowly to 25 m tall and 5 m wide, growing best in full sun on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site. It is frost tender and does require good moisture levels during dry periods while it is establishing. Livistona australis is commonly used in mixed plantings, as a backdrop for smaller plants, or to contrast with other leaf forms.
