Phoenix reclinata, commonly known as the Senegal Date Palm or Arabian Date Palm, is Palm tree that may reach 12 m tall and 6 m wide but often grows as a bushy clump to sizes much less than this with one or more stems. The dark green fronds are feathery in appearance, about 3 m long, and are held with a graceful arch. Phoenix reclinata makes a lovely specimen and is often planted to arch out over water features, included in a tropical garden, or simply added to a mixed planting.

Phoenix reclinata Details

Phoenix reclinata, commonly known as the Senegal Date Palm or Arabian Date Palm, is Palm tree that may reach 12 m tall and 6 m wide but often grows as a bushy clump to sizes much less than this with one or more stems. The dark green fronds are feathery in appearance, about 3 m long, and are held with a graceful arch. Orange fruits are produced in autumn amidst the foliage, adding further interest to the tree. It is typically grown in subtropical climates, usually around water features, and will tolerate a light frost once established. Phoenix reclinata makes a lovely specimen and is often planted to arch out over water features, included in a tropical garden, or simply added to a mixed planting.
