Actaea Black Negligee, commonly known as Black Bugbane or the Black Snakeroot Plant, is grown for its impressive flowers and foliage. It produces fragrant, bottlebrush-like, pale pink-white flowers on slender stems in spring which rise above the foliage. The foliage comprises lush, purple-black leaves which provides a stunning contrast to the flowers as it grows to 1.5 m tall and 75 cm wide. Actaea Black Negligee is commonly used in border or mixed plantings, included in cottage gardens, maintained in a container, or mass planted around the base of larger trees and shrubs.
