Actaea simplex Brunette is a variety of the commonly known, Baneberry, and is grown for its impressive flowers and foliage. This herbaceous perennial produces scented, bottlebrush-like, white flowers on slender stems which rise above the foliage from summer through autumn. The foliage comprises lush, dark purple-black leaves which provides a great contrast to the flowers as it grows to 1 m tall and 80 cm wide. Actaea simplex Brunette is commonly used in border or mixed plantings, included in cottage gardens, maintained in a container, or mass planted around the base of larger trees and shrubs.
