Agapanthus praecox produces large and showy clusters of blue flowers on slender stems through spring and summer. The dark green, strap like foliage provides a lovely backdrop to the flowers. This herbaceous perennial grows as a tidy clump to about 80 cm tall and the same wide, growing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It will tolerate frost, cool climates, dry periods, heavy soils, and coastal conditions.
