Alpinia zerumbet, commonly known as Zerumbet Ginger or Shell Ginger, is an herbaceous perennial grown for its foliage and pretty flowers. It features large and glossy, dark green foliage which has both a lush and fresh appeal. Masses of small, white flowers with a red throat are borne on short stems during summer as it grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide. Alpinia zerumbet is commonly used for shady areas, tropical gardens, or grown anywhere a lush and beautiful plant is required. It also makes for a great indoor plant.

Alpinia zerumbet, commonly known as Zerumbet Ginger or Shell Ginger, is an herbaceous perennial grown for its foliage and pretty flowers. It features large and glossy, dark green foliage which has both a lush and fresh appeal. In summer, masses of small, white flowers with a red throat are borne on short stems. These are a fantastic addition to an already lovely plant. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide, growing best in partial shade through full shade conditions on a well-drained site. In cold environments it may die back but during winter but will regenerate from storage roots once the temperature warms. It is tolerant of coastal environments provided there is good wind protection. Alpinia zerumbet is commonly used for shady areas, tropical gardens, or grown anywhere a lush and beautiful plant is required. It also makes for a great indoor plant.
