Alstroemeria aurea is a variety of the commonly known Peruvian Lily, and features beautiful, yellow and orange flowers. The large and showy blooms in spring and summer are complemented with lush, dark green foliage. It typically grows to 70 cm tall and 50 cm wide, though once established, tubers will enable the plant to spread further. The tubers also enable this herbaceous perennial to survive winters and regenerate in spring. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is planted in full sun on a well-drained soil that does not dry out. Peruvian Lilies are great for adding vibrant colour and fragrance to the garden.
