Bergenia Dark Damsel is a variety of Bergenia selected for its lush foliage and pretty flowers. The leaves are large, leathery, wavy, and arranged as a somewhat flat rosette. They tend to be glossy green but as temperatures cool, they turn develop burgundy tones. The are cone-shaped, deep pink flowers are borne in spring on short stems as it grows to about 30 cm tall and the same wide. Bergenia Dark Damsel is a very fashionable and hardy plant which is ideal for border planting, use as a groundcover, or for lining a walkway. It is often added to mixed plantings with best displays achieved when it is mass planted.

The are cone-shaped, deep pink flowers are borne in spring on short stems which emerge from the centre of the plant. This herbaceous perennial typically grows to about 30 cm tall and the same wide and tolerates a wide range of soil conditions but will grow best in either full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is also tolerant of frost, cold environments, and short periods of dry soil conditions.
