Stems rise above the foliage through summer to bare large and showy, salmon pink flowers. The combination of flowers and foliage is very aesthetic. This herbaceous perennial typically grows to 70 cm tall and 50 cm wide, and in cold environments the plants may die back during winter to regrow again when temperatures warm in spring. Canna Lilies grow best when planted on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun or partial shade, though it is tolerant of moderate frost and heavy soils.
