Chamaemelum nobile, commonly known as Roman Chamomile, is an herbaceous perennial that features lovely flowers and aromatic foliage. It forms a mat of finely divided and feathery, green leaves which are aromatic when crushed or bruised. The foliage is complemented with masses of white and yellow, daisy-like flowers during summer and autumn as it grows to 15 cm tall and 30 cm wide. Chamaemelum nobile is commonly used in borders and mixed plantings, or added to cottage gardens, but can also be used as a lawn substitute where it is mown periodically.
