Dietes Tiny Dancer, commonly known as Wild Iris or African Iris, is a smaller variety of Dietes iridioides with eye catching flowers. The showy flowers are white and marked with yellow and violet and produced on slender stems through spring and summer amidst the foliage. The foliage comprises narrow and sword-like, dark green leaves which are held densely and complement the flowers nicely as it grows to 30 cm tall and the same wide. Dietes Tiny Dancer is commonly used in cottage gardens, public gardens, mixed plantings, borders, or mass planted on a bank. It is a great plant for using anywhere a tough, yet attractive specimen is required and for that reason it is often planted around commercial properties or along roadsides.

The foliage comprises narrow and sword-like, dark green leaves which are held densely and complement the flowers nicely. This Wild Iris is an herbaceous perennial and typically grows to 30 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of wind, frost, cool climates, and dry periods, with storage roots enabling it to regrow and expand each year if it dies back during winter.
