Helianthus Table Mountain Details

Helianthus Table Mountain, commonly known as the Willow-Leaved Sunflower, is an herbaceous perennial grown for its bright and showy, yellow flowers. The flowers are produced in abundance throughout autumn and are great for attracting native fauna. The fine foliage is bright green and has a downward arch. It has below ground storage roots which enable it to not just survive winter and dry periods, but also allow it to spread. It typically grows to 75 cm tall and the same wide but may colonise a larger area than this with time. Best performance with this plant is achieved when grown in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of dry periods, coastal environments, and light frost. Helianthus Table Mountain is commonly included in cottage gardens, mixed plantings, used to brighten dull corners, or to contrast with other plant types. A mass planting looks very effective.
