Helleborus argutifolius, commonly known as the Corsican Hellebore, is an herbaceous perennial valued for its attractive foliage and colourful, yet unusual flowers. The foliage is dark green and becomes adorned with interesting flowers through winter and spring. The green flowers are nodding, cup shaped, and held on upright stems above the foliage. The combination of flowers and foliage is very aesthetic. It grows as a clump to about 60 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun, and protected from severe frosts. It may die back during winter but will regrow when conditions warm.
