“Hot Flash” is an herbaceous perennial grown for its amazing flowers and foliage. Through winter and spring, the plant produces showy, dusky-pink-green flowers. The flowers are complemented with lush, dark green leaves. It grows as a clump to about 30 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site protected from heavy frost. It is tolerant of short periods of dry and light frost only. “Hot Flash” is a great plant for cottage and tropical gardens, for adding to a mixed or border planting, or for planting for winter interest. A mass planting produces the best displays with this plant.
