Hosta Praying Hands is grown for its narrow and tightly folded leaves that resemble hands folded in prayer. The dark green leaves are heavily rippled with very narrow, gold margins. In summer, bell-shaped, lilac flowers appear and are held neatly above the foliage. This herbaceous perennial will grow to about 60 cm wide and 50 cm tall and in cold climates it may die off during winter to regrow again in spring. Hosta Praying Hands is commonly mass planted as a groundcover, included in borders, grown in a container, used in tropical and cottage gardens, or planted around outdoor living areas.

Hosta Praying Hands Details

Hosta Praying Hands is grown for its narrow and tightly folded leaves that resemble hands folded in prayer. The dark green leaves are heavily rippled with very narrow, gold margins. In summer, bell-shaped, lilac flowers appear and are held neatly above the foliage which are followed by seed heads that attract birds. This herbaceous perennial will grow to about 60 cm wide and 50 cm tall and in cold climates it may die off during winter to regrow again in spring. It grows best in a full sun or partial shade position on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost and cold climates but should not be allowed to dry out. Hosta Praying Hands is commonly mass planted as a groundcover, included in borders, grown in a container, used in tropical and cottage gardens, or planted around outdoor living areas.
