Libertia Gentle Annie Details

Libertia Gentle Annie is a variety of the commonly known, NZ Iris, and is a NZ native grown for its beautiful, spikes of small, white flowers which are held above the stand above the strap like, green-brown leaves. The flowers have three petals and are carried on stems above the foliage through spring. They result in attractive, orange seed capsules. Libertia Gentle Annie typically grows to 50 cm tall and the same wide, and performs best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of coastal conditions, cool climates, and a range of soil conditions. The NZ Iris is commonly mass planted, added to a mixed planting, used in borders, planted around the base of a larger tree, added to “white” gardens, or used in cottage gardens.
