“Asti Purple” is a variety of Osteospermum grown for its lovely flowers. This herbaceous perennial produces masses of large, purple flowers with a dark centre. These are held above the rich green foliage from spring through summer. It typically grows to 40 cm tall and 50 cm wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun. “Asti Purple” is commonly included in border plantings, cottage gardens, grown in a container, or mass planted for a stunning display. It makes a dramatic statement when planted alongside a set of steps or atop a small retaining wall.
