Osteospermum Burgundy Star

Cape Daisy

“Burgundy Star” is an herbaceous perennial grown for its showy flowers. It produces masses of the large, dark pink-purple blooms with a dark centre through spring and summer. These are held above the rich and lush green foliage which serves as a lovely backdrop. It typically grows to 40 cm tall and 50 cm wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun. It is tolerant of short periods of dry and light frost only. “Burgundy Star” is commonly included in a border planting, used in cottage gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, maintained in a container, or mass planted for a stunning display. It makes a dramatic statement when planted alongside a set of steps or above a small retaining wall.
