Polygonatum multiflorum, commonly known as Solomon’s Seal, is an herbaceous perennial grown for its foliage and flowers. This impressive plant produces lush, dark green leaves off upright stems. The foliage is adorned during late spring and summer with masses of small and white, bell-shaped flowers. The contrast between flowers and foliage is very aesthetic. It typically grows to 30 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when grown in partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It will tolerate mild frost and may die back during winter to regrow again when conditions warm.
