Salvia Merleau Blue

Blue Sage, Salvia Merleau Blue, Merleau Blue Sage

“Merleau Blue” is a variety of Sage grown for its rich display of flowers from summer through autumn. It produces solid flower spikes with small, blue flowers which sit neatly above the mid-green foliage. The flowers are great for attracting butterflies and birds. All parts of the plant are aromatic and produce a lovely fragrance when crushed. It typically grows to 40 cm tall and the same wide, performing best on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun. It is frost hardy once established and does require good levels of moisture during dry periods. This plant is ideal for herb gardens, mixed plantings, cottage gardens, borders, or container growing. A mass planting really suits this plant and gives a very rewarding display.
