Scabiosa Black Night Details

Scabiosa Black Night is a variety of the commonly known, Pin Cushion Flower, and is an herbaceous perennial grown for its pretty flowers. It produces stunning, dark burgundy flowers during summer and autumn with the tiny florets resembling a pin cushion. This compact plant carries grey–green foliage and typically grows to 50 cm tall and the same wide. Best performance is achieved when it is planted on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun. It is hardy to dry periods and coastal environments but should be protected from frost, especially when young. Scabiosa Black Night is a great choice for cottage gardens, container growing, mixed plantings, border planting, or for anywhere a delightful splash of colour is wanted. A mass planting looks great and it makes for an excellent cut flower.
