Tiarella cordifolia, commonly known as the Heartleaf Foam Flower, is grown for both its foliage and flowers. This herbaceous perennial grows as a clump, producing large and lush, bright green leaves with a darker centre. Through spring it produces spikes of mildly fragrant, light pink flowers on stems which rise above the foliage as it grows to 30 cm tall and 40 cm wide. Tiarella cordifolia is commonly included in mixed and border plantings, used in cottage gardens, grown in a container, planted beneath larger trees and shrubs, or mass planted for an amazing display.

Tiarella cordifolia Details

Tiarella cordifolia, commonly known as the Heartleaf Foam Flower, is grown for both its foliage and flowers. This herbaceous perennial grows as a clump, producing large and lush, bright green leaves with a darker centre. Through spring it produces spikes of mildly fragrant, light pink flowers on stems which rise above the foliage. It typically grows to 30 cm tall and 40 cm wide, performing best in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. In cold regions it will die back during winter then regrow again in spring. Tiarella cordifolia is commonly included in mixed and border plantings, used in cottage gardens, grown in a container, planted beneath larger trees and shrubs, or mass planted for an amazing display.
