“Swany” is a deciduous shrub that features showy clusters of double, white flowers. The impressive blooms begin in spring and continue until autumn provided the spent flowers are removed. The flowers are complemented with dark green foliage which develops yellow tones in autumn before falling. This variety typically grows to 60 cm tall and 1 m wide and is generally pruned each winter with about 50% of the stem removed. It grows best when positioned in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, though it is tolerant of frost, cool climates, and has very good disease resistance. “Swany” is commonly included in a mixed planting, grown in a courtyard or “white” garden, or planted to soften a bland wall.
