Rose Old Port Standard Details

The Old Port standard rose is a lovely Floribunda variety that features masses of very showy, deep purple flowers which fade to lilac with age. The heavily scented blooms begin in late spring and continue until autumn. The foliage comprises small-sized, dark green leaves which provide a lovely backdrop to the flowers. This standardised rose is grafted at 80 cm. The result is a plant that typically grows to 1.2 m tall and 50 cm wide. It is generally pruned each winter with about 75% of the aerial stems removed. It grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, and is tolerant of frost and cool climates. It also has very good disease resistance.
