Abelia grandiflora Mardi Gras, commonly known as Glossy Abelia, produces stunning flowers and colourful foliage. The foliage emerges bright pink in spring, ages to become variegated cream and green, then takes on fabulous copper tones in autumn. The foliage on this Glossy Abelia is complemented with masses of white flowers which emerge from pink buds during summer and autumn. It typically grows to 80 cm tall and 1.2 m wide, performing best when positioned in full sun on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site. It is tolerant of moderate frost, coastal environments, and short periods of dry.
