Abutilon Nabob, commonly known as Chinese Lantern, Red Flowering Maple, or Parlour Maple, is an evergreen shrub renowned for its nodding, deep red flowers which are produced in abundance from spring through autumn. The foliage comprises large, green leaves and it typically grows to 3 m tall and 2 m wide. It responds well to pruning which encourages fresh, new growth and better flowering. It performs best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site, and is tolerant of moderate frost and cool climates, though it will tend to be deciduous in these environments.
