Abutilon Victor Reiter, commonly known as Chinese Lantern, Red Flowering Maple, or Parlour Maple, is an evergreen shrub that is grown for its soft orange, bell-shaped flowers from spring through autumn. The leaves are dark green and blend nicely with the flowers. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide, and can be trimmed and shaped as necessary. This lovely plant will grow equally well in full sun or partial shade and is tolerant of moderate frost and cool climates. It will generally remain evergreen but may loses its leaves in cooler environments through winter but will regrow again when conditions warm in spring.
